Uwulend: compare loans and yield on UwU Lend
UwU Lend is an Ethereum lending protocol. Compare its deposit income, collateral-backed loans and xUwU staking through the asset held, the debt owed and the conditions for exiting. Lending access can override a quoted return: DefiLlama’s uUSDT market listing flags new deposits as paused while displaying yield figures.

Match the position to the goal
- Earn interest on a supplied asset
- A lending deposit makes an eligible asset available to borrowers. A uToken records the supplied position and its accumulated interest.
- Access liquidity without selling collateral
- A loan releases a borrowed asset against eligible deposits, creating an interest-bearing debt with liquidation exposure.
- Receive revenue-sharing rewards on UwU holdings
- Staking UwU produces xUwU receipt tokens. UwU added as rewards to the staking contract increases the amount backing each xUwU.
- Increase incentive-bearing exposure
- Looping repeatedly supplies and borrows the same supported asset, increasing both the supplied balance and the debt.
Compare rates on the balances they affect
Deposit interest accrues to the supplied position, while borrowing interest adds to debt in the borrowed asset. Both rates vary. Their percentages apply to their respective balances, so subtracting the headline rates alone won’t establish profit. UwU Lend’s February 22, 2024 deposit guide describes the displayed supply APY as a yearly estimate based on the preceding 30 days, rather than a fixed return for the next year.
UwU incentive rewards accumulate separately from lending interest and don’t automatically repay a loan. During reward vesting, the published Exit Early option transfers 50% of the claimable UwU reward amount to the wallet. Borrowing costs, gas and these claiming terms affect how much of a displayed reward becomes usable value.
The documented vault-token route adds another source of yield. A supported asset such as sDAI can carry its underlying yield mechanism alongside lending interest and UwU incentives. Its eligibility as collateral remains a separate requirement for borrowing. A supply position without a loan avoids borrowing costs, while retaining the asset’s risks and the lending market’s contract and liquidity risks.
Separate market access from displayed yield
In UwU Lend’s published Aave V2-based lending contracts, a reserve freeze blocks new deposits and borrowing. Withdrawal and repayment aren’t rejected solely because of that freeze; they face their own checks. A pool-wide pause blocks all four actions. These are rules of the published contract version, and a deployed market’s actual settings determine whether an action is available.
Withdrawal also requires an active reserve, available underlying liquidity and enough remaining collateral to satisfy account checks. Partial repayment can create room for a partial withdrawal. Repaying all outstanding debt removes the debt-related collateral restriction, while liquidity and contract-state limits still apply.
Security history also affects the comparison. BlockSec’s July 1, 2024 Monthly Security Review: June 2024 records attacks on June 10 and June 13 with combined losses exceeding $23 million. An annualized yield figure doesn’t measure the risk of another contract failure or establish that funds affected by an earlier loss have been recovered.
Deposit, borrowing and exit stages
UwU Lend’s February 22 and March 4, 2024 guides describe this route for borrowing against your own supplied collateral. A position used only for lending income skips the borrowing and repayment stages. Each action depends on the relevant market and lending pool allowing it.

| Stage | Documented action | Access and balance requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Choose the deposit market | Select the asset and review its deposit APY. | The asset must have an active, unfrozen reserve, and the lending pool must be unpaused for a deposit. |
| Authorize and supply | Approve the amount if needed, then execute the deposit. | The wallet must hold the asset. An existing sufficient allowance can remove the separate approval step; approval alone doesn’t create a deposit. |
| Review collateral capacity | Check which deposits count as collateral and the borrowing capacity they support. | Only eligible deposits enabled as collateral contribute. The applicable loan-to-value settings limit borrowing against their value. |
| Open the loan | Select the loan asset and amount, review the position and execute borrowing. | The reserve must be active, unfrozen and enabled for borrowing, with sufficient liquidity and the pool unpaused. The requested debt must pass the collateral and account checks. |
| Monitor the position | Follow the debt balance and health factor after borrowing. | Interest accrues in the borrowed asset. Under the published liquidation rules, a health factor below 1 makes the position eligible for liquidation. |
| Repay debt | Approve the repayment asset if needed, then repay part or all of the loan. | Repayment requires an active reserve and an unpaused pool, plus the borrowed asset in the wallet. Full repayment must cover the outstanding debt, including accrued interest. |
| Withdraw supplied assets | Redeem the amount the account and market allow. | The reserve must be active and the pool unpaused. Available liquidity and the collateral needed for any remaining debt constrain the withdrawal. |
xUwU rewards and staking exit conditions
The February 29, 2024 xUwU launch guide describes a 72-hour lock on all xUwU in a wallet whenever a new UwU staking deposit is made. Once the applicable lock has elapsed, unstaking converts xUwU into the amount of UwU shown by the redemption quote. The relevant staking outcome is the UwU redeemable per xUwU, together with UwU’s market value.
UwU Lend’s July 12, 2024 UwU Lend Rewards Flywheel: V3 describes treasury-only liquidity provision for UwU tokens, with most protocol revenue directed to UwU buybacks and the remainder allocated to protocol expenses. Bought-back UwU and UwU collected through early-exit penalties feed the xUwU reward contract. Earlier descriptions of direct revenue distributions to user LP stakers belong to a different arrangement.
Holding xUwU retains exposure to UwU’s price, and buybacks don’t guarantee a return or price floor. Supplying another eligible asset instead retains exposure to that asset and its lending market. The published points rules also reset accrued points when xUwU is transferred or any portion is unstaked; possible future points benefits are separate from token rewards.
Looping adds debt and unwind steps
A loop enlarges the balances earning lending interest and incentives, but it also enlarges the debt accruing borrowing interest. A larger supplied balance therefore isn’t an equivalent increase in assets available after repayment. Even when the same asset backs both sides, accumulated interest can weaken the health factor.
The April 7, 2024 looping guide describes one-click loop construction and a manual unwind through repeated withdrawals and repayments, unless new funds clear the open debt. Each withdrawal must leave the position within its account limits before the next repayment. A non-looped lending deposit avoids those linked unwind stages, making it a different choice when the goal is lending income with fewer debt-management requirements.
